A music-movie merchant is an individual, a business or businessperson who trades in musical and movie contents or entertainment’s products and services, produced by others, in order to earn a profit. The status of the merchant could vary during different timeline period and amongst different facets of entertainment casts.

Types of Musical and Movie merchants

1.      Retailer: A retail merchant or retailer, sells merchandise to music and movie consumers (including businesses), usually in small quantities. A shop owner is a retail merchant as well as the CDs / DVDs street vendors.

a.       Retail Members can access the spectrum of music products and innovations, along with industry-specific information and tips, marketing programs, music education advocacy tools, government affairs support, money-saving services and other resources necessary to set their businesses apart and create new customers.

b.      They are introduced to the newest products and innovations to enhance and grow their businesses, and receive training and year-round support through ideas and programs to help expand their market.

c.       Sound studio and equipment rentals, pro audio/lighting retail sales and rentals, music schools with retail sales, rental stores, repair shops, vintage and shops.

2.      Service Provider: Companies / Businesses who sell entertainment’s products or services to Retail or commercial merchants. The products or services are not provided for resale but they assist Retail or wholesale merchants and content producers in conducting their businesses.

3.      Managers: discover new lines, receive education on the latest offerings, build personal relationships with Artists / Actors / Actresses / Producers / Directors/ Label Records, learn ways to better help their artists (product)  and develop a network that helps to support the expansion of their businesses. 

4.      Commercial Merchants: can showcase their gear, components and services to the global music products industry with additionally benefits

5.      Wholesaler: A wholesale merchant operates in the chain between content producers and retail merchants, typically dealing in large quantities of goods. Some wholesale merchants only organize the movement of goods (CDs) rather than move the goods themselves.

6.      Value Added Service Provider: A value-added service (VAS) provider is a provider of non-core entertainment services, or in short, all services beyond standard production of songs and movies. They make services available at little or no cost, to promote their primary business. Some of VAS are
